Meet Natalie Sandoval – Speedland Athlete
Natalie is an ultra marathon athlete and educator from Phoenix, AZ. She was primarily a road runner growing up and first learned about the sport of trail running from a book of short stories called Running Through The Wall by Neal Jamison. These detailed accounts of trials and triumph from legends like Ann Trason inspired her to sign up for a trail race and she's been hooked ever since!
These days, Natalie is passionate about competing at the top level in ultramarathons around the world. A few highlights from her running career so far include top finishes at Black Canyon 100k, Broken Arrow 46k, OCC-UTMB, and most recently, Lake Sonoma 50 Mile. Her running goals are always evolving, but above all else, she hopes to inspire people to wholeheartedly pursue their dreams.
"I was never an 'athlete' in the way that I saw other people to be when I was younger. I wasn't overly athletic or competitive. I just always loved running and wanted to be the best I could be in the sport. It's amazing what can happen when you believe in yourself and make a commitment to see your goals through."
