There are plenty of technical reviews by exceedingly better runners than I. I will simply say thank you. Thank you for building this shoe the way you did and thank you for not cutting corners or compromising. I will be a lifelong customer.

Best Trail Shoe Ever

The Speedland PDX is worth every penny. The design is a qualitative breakthrough in comfortable sure-footed capability for at least two reasons: 1. Slipping the midsole into the protective cradle of a mountain bike tire moccasin makes this shoe much lower to the ground with more even cushioning. At age 57 I find myself joyfully bombing down rocky alpine slopes here in Colorado’s high country - in fact, I can hardly help it! The ride is so fun and the traction secure. 2. The dual BOA system makes for the best lockdown I’ve ever experienced in a trail shoe. The plate is smoothly propulsive and a noticeable improvement over other plated trail shoes. It’s no secret that the PDX is expensive.
Yet when considering how inferior much-hyped carbon racer/trainers are (such as the Flight Vectiv, with its sloppy lockdown and cramped fit, to give just one recent example), I would rather have 2 or 3 Speedlands in my rotation and retire my other dozen trail shoes.

Great!

Great grip. Wet trail today in the rain. Fit was perfect. Love the boa. First impression was solid. Can’t wait to go out again. Congrats!!

Amazing Shoe, I possibly need it wider

The shoe is great - arrived on Friday and I took it up and down Mt Mitchell on Saturday and Table Rock Mountain on Sunday.

First time using a BOA system and I am a big fan. Even when it got caught on a jutting out rock along the trail it was easy enough to pop back in. The sole is very comfortable and responsive.

Only issue I have, which is personal to my feet, is that it might not be wide enough (particularly on the heel), and I also have very high arches. I picked up some blisters on the side of my foot toward the back, and on my left pinky toe. The grip, although very good, is potentially not as grippy as Inov-8's graphite (but I could also be entirely wrong there, and misremembering my prior experience).

All in all, excellent offering with incredible customer service (honestly, 2nd to none) - I would just prefer my feet not to be so wide, particularly on the heel and toe. Would happily buy multiple pairs if better suited for my wide/high arched feet, as you're not going to find a shoe that will perform as well elsewhere.

HSV review

Awesome show. Took it up to Bear Mountain and did 20 miles in snow, mud, wet, craggy rocks and shoes were unbelievable. Can’t wait for next version which hopefully has a tad more arch support. Overnight though the HSV is my favorite trail shoe.
